The design of ribbon conveyor screws prevents material from gathering where the screw meets the pipe and provides a mixing type of action for dry materials. Mixing action only occurs if the cross-sectional load is larger than the face of the flight (dimension D). Ribbon flights are fastened to the pipe with the use of Nu-Weld lugs, this eliminates the necessity of drilling fastening holes in the mounting pipe and therefore assures a stronger unit as the result, the pipe also features seamless internal collars in each end.
