085 roller chain is commonly referred to as 085B roller chain because it is manufactured in accordance with ISO 606B and 228 British Standard dimensional and material specifications. The roller of a chain is responsible for the sprocket-to-chain contact, as you can imagine over time this contact wears on a chain. With a seamed roller design, the roller over time becomes oval-shaped and warped, causing the chain to dig into the root of the sprocket which results in an excessive chain and sprocket wear. Utilizing the seamless roller design like our 085 chain eliminates this type of wear over time and dramatically increases the overall working life and performance of the chain.
