The need for a high-strength, corrosion resistant and performance bearings has consistently risen within the industry. This is where thermoplastic mounted bearing units come in handy; thermoplastic bearings are designed for corrosive or food-grade applications and utilise a thermoplastic housing with a stainless steel insert bearing. Our premium wash-down duty thermoplastic bearing units have become increasingly popular throughout the industry and are more cost-effective than a fully stainless bearing unit. Additionally, thermoplastic bearings have a decreased weight factor compared to other bearing materials. These bearings are found in an extensive range of applications such as; poultry, meat, seafood, bottling, packaging, and more! What sets our thermoplastic bearings apart from others is the reinforced PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is composed of 10% long strand glass fibre along with precision solid stainless bushings placed around the bearing bore and mounting holes. When it comes to the insert bearing itself, it is made from high grades of food-grade stainless steel to a precision tolerance of C3. The combination of these provides a high-strength thermoplastic bearing housing with a smooth running performance insert bearing capable of performing in food grade and corrosive environments. These bearings also operate in low-temperature applications and temperatures up to 285° Fahrenheit.

We stock thermoplastic bearings in various configurations; two-bolt pillow block, two-bolt flange, three-bolt flange, four-bolt flange, and tapped base. Pillow block-mounted thermoplastic bearings are designed to support the shaft in applications where the mounting surface is parallel to the shaft axis. Flange bearings are designed for supporting the shaft in applications where the shaft runs perpendicular to the mounting surface. Tapped base pillow block thermoplastic bearings are much like two bolt bearings but with the benefit of utilizing a smaller mounting surface or "footprint".
